Finally school was over for the day so the young boy could do something that did not require too much effort on his part. Damien was rather intelligent in almost all of his courses. He even found some of them a waste of his time by how easy he felt it was. Damien closed his eyes as the autumn air brush past him. This was a nice season. He never had anything against it. It was not too hot or cold. It was rather reasonable but it always lead to the dead cold of winter. Damien did not really care much for the cold weather.
Soon he opened his brown eyes before continuing to walk along the path. One of his hands were in his pocket while his other hand was at his side gripping onto one of his books. The young man liked to read. It was a way to get your mind off of the real world. There was always something for him to do being the Elite Vice President. He did not have as much work as the President but he liked to take on a lot to be able to help the President out. It let Damien feel like he is helping here at this school. Really he shouldn't be here. He was only here to watch over his sister secretly. He even took on a different last name. After all those who were familiar with the history of Stonewood could easily trace back his name to his family. He was the one who would carry on the name if he decided to have children in the future.
Damien soon found a tree that he liked to sit by that was located just off one of the paths. He walked over to the tree taking his seat at the base of it once again like he did many days. He kept his legs stretched out in front of him as his book now rest opened in his lap. His eyes were scanning across the pages absorbing the writing located on each page. This book was just a book on fantasy. He found it humors what humans could come up with about the mythical creatures they seem to fear. Damien was one of those humans would fear. Being a vampire like his beautiful mother. Humans just seem to cower in fear at the sound of vampire. Although he keeps that a secret from average humans today. Don't want to start a scare now did he. Panic was not good.
Damien did not look up when he started to hear footsteps near by. A light smile appeared across his lips. He had a pretty good feeling who was coming. She always seemed to show up where he was never to disappoint. "Greetings Lana, how have you been?" Damien spoke knowing who it was without looking up from his book. Since he could hear her walking he knew she was close enough to hear his voice. He was always polite to the girl. His little friend who always followed.

Walking she was not. Running she was. Lana began a daily routine of running once the school ending bell rang. She always had her things ready to go before the time and was out as soon as the first ding went off. It was normal for her now. Who chases her you ask? Well it's none other than the male students. They seemed to have a thing for the Elite Students and viewed them as famous stars or more like royalty. And Lana was in that. She didn't know why they were so attracted to her, they just were.
Lana wasn't what you would consider 'beautiful', she was more 'cute' than anything. She had a petite body with a small face for her true race was that of elf. Her eyes were the odd color of a dark gray and her hair was like that of black silk. Today she kept it in a ponytail. She had a daily routine of changing up the styles to keep things fresh. Behind her ran teenage boy classmates. Lana turned around and ran backward. She put her thumb to her nose and wiggled her other fingers. She stuck her tongue out and called, "Catch me if you can! Though you never do!" She giggled and turned back around. Lana now ran straight.
She took a left turn and slowed to a walk. Lana lost the ravening boys. She smiled to herself as she made her way toward a familiar figure, Damien. You could say that Lana had a crush on him but then again Lana felt connected to him somehow. Not by mere love at first sight, no more like magically. Lana made her way to Damien as he addressed her. She smiled and put a hand on her hip. She tilted one side of her hips and her other hand held her book bag, "Hello, Damien. I'm okay. How are you?"
She gave a soft grin to the boy. He was the Vice President of the Elites and she was the Secretary of the Elites. With the rest of the Elites they seemed to never break apart. Lana gave soft cough and went to the other side of the tree and sat down. She took several deep sighs trying to keep her beating heart down, "I get so mad at the boys at this school. They chase me everyday. Not that I don't like a workout but sometimes it's nice not to be run out of your classroom." She giggled and continued, "I don't know what they see in me. I'm not that cute anyways."

Damien glanced up once Lana had came over to him. She leaned on her side as she held her book bag before she took a seat against the tree as well. "The day was boring in class but the day was nice," Damien answered. He turned his gaze back to his book starting to read again. He could hear the multiple deep breaths Lana was taking. She must have ran here or something. He wondered why she was running but soon got his answer as she spoke up again. Damien gave a light laugh at her story. The boys seemed to often chase the girl.
"The chase of the fans is the curse of an Elite," Damien reminded her. It was a little joke the Elites had that when they got a few fans that is was all part of the curse. Really they could not see why some students seemed to worship them. Damien found it annoying only when they scream and squeal like some students have done in the past. Although he does not have the problem as bad as poor Lana seemed to have. "Now don't go putting yourself down. Every girl is beautiful but its their personality that keeps the men around," Damien stated as he laughed lightly. He was friendly towards everyone he considers close. Besides he did not want to something to make Lana unhappy. He had come to quite enjoy their friendly conversations the two of them shared.
Damien turned the page of his book once he reached the end before his brown eyes scanned the next one. Damien was able to multi-task. Keeping a conversation going as he read was something that just came natural to the vampire. "You know you are always welcome to come near me if they are chasing you. They usually stop if you are near other Elites," Damien pointed out. It felt kind of like a force field had formed or something. At least the fans had the sense to let the Elites be on their own. They seemed to all have the special close bond with one another. They were always seen together especially up at the temple where the whole group often can be found. "Lucky we don't have a meeting at the temple today. You might have been late once again," Damien said as he smiled. He teased her lightly about it.

Lana nodded as Damien went to talk about his day. She gave a grin though he couldn't see. She remained sitting on the other side of the tree, for if she sat closer to the boy her heart would burst. Twisting her head around, Lana looked to the Vice President of the Elites. One hand rested on the ground while the other rested on the tree. Lana giggled a little but then pouted, "Mainly me. I don't see Sariel or Nyla getting chased around as much as me." Lana then shrugged but then her eyes opened wide, along with her mouth just a bit.
She quickly turned around for she didn't want Damien to see the blush on her face that suddenly appeared. Lana took a deep silent breath and asked, "So does that mean I have to change my personality?" She knew that's not what he meant, so she covered it up quickly, "Of course I can't do that. I rather enjoy myself the way I am. I'm the 'odd one out'." Lana laughed softly. She looked up into the trees and saw that some of the leaves were changing and falling. Lana watched them float down and one landed on her hand that was rested in her lap.
Without thinking she stated, "Lovely time of year. A season of change, endings and beginnings." She took the leaf and took one of her books. She placed the leaf gently within the pages and closed the book. Lana then held the book close to her heart and took a soft breath. She then looked back to Damien in the same fashion as she was earlier. A hand on the ground and a hand on the tree. She gave a small grin and said, "I'll keep that in mind. Thank you, Damien." Lana blinked several more times when the boy mentioned that they didn't have a meeting. She laughed a bit and said, "I'm always late. You should know that by now. But by all means it's their faul--"
Lana was then cut off by the male students finding her. They pointed her out and one of them yelled, "There she is! The Elite Secretary!" They took several steps forward and Lana coward, "Shit, they found me." They slowly made their way closer. Lana stuffed her book back into bag and stood up. She then took hold of book bag and went off running. Though she only took several steps, Lana tripped. She fell flat on her face and right beside Damien. Lana sat up and rubbed her nose and said, "Ow. That wasn't planned at all." Lana looked over her shoulder and the male student body was coming closer.
They yelled random things, "Oh Lana-sama! Princess! Lana-bee!" Lana puffed up and stood up like on que. She yelled back to them and pointed her finger, "Don't call me 'Lana-bee'! Only special friends can call me that!" The boys cheered and yelled more, "She just gave us permission to call her nicknames. She said we were special!" Lana put down her pointed finger and slumped over. She then said to where only Damien could hear at this point, "Eh?! I didn't say that. I said you couldn't..." Lana went off and realized that the boys didn't notice Damien there yet. She looked to Damien and gave a sad look, "Help me, Damien. They're getting closer."
"LANA-BEE!!! LANA-SAMA!!"

Damien kept his eyes on his book when he heard Lana speak up again. He laughed lightly as he smiled. "Your right you do get chased much more then they do but they do at times have their share of a chaser or two," Damien stated. He turned the page of his book and his brown eyes started to scan the page once again. He loved reading. More often then not you would find a book in his hands or at least near the brown haired man. Damien quickly looked up from his book hearing Lana's statement about changing her personality. He opened his mouth to protest against that when she soon followed that she could never do that. She was just joking. Damien would not want her to change her personality. It was a nice one that is easy to be friends with. He just smiled as he glanced back down into his book.
"Hmm yes it is quite a lovely time of year. I find it quite nice and pleasant out here. Hint why I'm out here today," Damien said agreeing with Lana. Damien glanced to the girl sitting near him. She seemed to be holding a book close to her. Must have some special value to her. Damien soon glanced up to her eyes when she glanced towards him. "Its really no problem for me Lana," Damien stated. He glanced back down at his book when she started to speak about being always late. That one was for sure. The Elite Sectary was always late. It was humors since it never bothered anyone. She was bright and easy to catch up if she missed something important.
Soon their pleasant little conversation was rudely interrupted by the fans of Lana's. Damien sighed to himself getting rather annoyed that they insisted on following after the girl. "Are you okay?" Damien quickly asked when Lana had taken a face drop to the ground. Soon the male group had spotted Lana once again. She was telling them that they could not call her the nicknames they were currently chanting. Damien raised one of his eye brows to the nicknames they had chosen before he glanced to Lana who was asking for help now. "I already told you I would help you," Damien soon stated as he stood up from his tree.
Damien soon made himself known as he stepped out from the tree that was blocking him from the view of the little male fan club. He closed his book rather hard as he moved so he was standing right besides Lana. "Hold this," Damien told her as he held out his book to her. He waited for her to take it before he put his hands in his pockets and started to walk towards the male fan club. "Do you really like Lana this much?" Damien asked them as he stopped and stood still. He was half way between Lana and the male fan club.
"Yes!! We love Lana-Bee!!" the fan club shouted.
Damien shut his eyes as they shouted. Reaching up with one of his hands he wiggled his ear to make sure it was still hearing correctly. They were loud. "Yet you keep doing things she does not like. Shouting and following her. Well she does not like that and you were interrupting our little meeting. As Elite Students that we are meetings are very important. You should respect," Damien explained. The fan club seemed to have stopped and looked to one another. Begging someone to make the next move. "Now before you annoy me can you please just leave," Damien soon said coldly. He did not use this voice very often but he wanted to make it clear to the boys to just leave. Damien soon watched as the boys quickly nodded and started to back away slowly as they saw the serious look on Damien face. Once they were gone he sighed loudly as he turned around walking back over to Lana. "Thank you for holding me book," Damien stated as he took his book back before sitting back down at the base of the tree. "You are safe in till you leave my presence," he informed her.
