Personal Tale::
There isn’t much to say about Ciar. He is a normal alp – the alp of course being a race of dream demons, best known from German mythology. Almost normal – there is no such thing as a female alp, and are in fact an all-male race. So Ciar, obviously, must be male as well, and any alp will agree with the definition – whatever mutation it is that has affected his physical form doesn’t even come into it.
Born of two fathers into an alp colony in Germany and grew up fairly normally, save his strange interesting in the physical plane – he has been inclined to enter it and interact with its occupants since he was very young, though he still doesn’t respect any of the ‘meal-tickets’ there. But this is normal for any alp, for they regard the physical-plane as a 'lesser' plane, and hold a belief that he cannot be killed there, though to be fair he will still run before that theory can be tested.
From 200 onward, Ciar has traveled on his own – leaving his father colony as per custom – and has taken to residing in different places for a few decades before growing bored and moving on. He enjoys playing with people of the physical plane, and so has become much more accustomed to their ways than other alp – though no one has yet been able to explain to him why they think he’s female. He came across Stonewood a few months ago, claiming he was attracted there by a strange, dark feeling and hope for plenty of sweet nightmares to feast on – but that is about the extent of himself that he’s been willing to share. Since then, his curiosity has caused him to stay here, and has settled into the role of a prankster who appears and disappears like some sort of poltergeist.
Special Ability
Character's Name:: Ciar Schläferin
Special Ability:: Dream manipulation
Description:: Exactly as it implies, Ciar is capable of entering and manipulating dreams as he sees fit. It doesn't take a lot of energy to do this, but he cannot create a dream if the person's mind isn't in a receptive state - ie, they are in the point of sleep where they might dream anyway. Generally it is easier and takes less effort to simply hijack an already occurring dream. Other people (the dreamer, or a psychic that's entered the dream via Ciar's entrance) can also try to manipulate the dream away from Ciar's intentions, but Ciar is extremely experienced and powerful in this talent, so these attempts almost always fail. He isn't experienced at it, but other alp have in the past trapped people in their dreams, leaving them in comas or wandering the world while in a hallucinative state.
As it is a dream, there obviously aren't very many limits to what he can do - but he can be hurt or even killed in a dream if he gets careless, and he can't cause or prevent the person from remembering the dream the next day (whether they do or not is entirely up to the state of their brain). While theoretically it is possible to turn the dream against him, and trap him inside it until it finishes, such an action has only occurred once in the entire recorded existence of his race.
