Avelin was busy wiping one of the tables a customer had just recently left. She picked up the now dirty mugs walking in behind the counter. She placed them in the sink before she quickly washed them. Dishes were one thing that Avelin always made sure to keep on top of when it came to running her little cafe. She adored her cafe. She got to meet so many people and she just plain old adored it here. This place Stonewood she was so pleased to be able to come here. Her brother had encouraged her to come stay here with him. Which she took him up on that offer. Now the small brown haired girl was the proud owner of this here popular cafe. Avelin adored working here. It was her pride and joy.
The little wolf demon quickly finished cleaning the little bit of dirty dishes before she dried her hands and made her way back out into the front of the cafe once again. It was a slow time of day. It was when Avelin was the most bored and had the least amount of things to do. It usually ended up with her cleaning and cleaning everything doing a few more times over and over. She hated not having anything to do. Boredom had to be the most worst thing in the world for Avelin. The brown haired girl was always a surprise to hear she ran this place. She looked so young. She was suppose to look like an young adult but some claimed she looked more like a teenager. It did not help that the girl dressed in more adorable outfits then anything. Like today she was in a dress that came down to her knees. She had an adorable hat on her head that looked like to have ears that hanged down to her stomach. She had an apron wrapped around her. Something required to wear here in her cafe. Of course only if you work here that is.
The small framed girl giggled softly to herself. She hopped lightly as she moved over to her little machine for coffee. Taking the small rag she had she made sure to remove any dust that might be on it. The cleaning fanatic craze had started. In till she had a customer come in this was what Avelin would do. Clean and dust to make sure everything was fine. Light humming could be heard from the wolf demon now as she hummed a tune dated back about an hundred years ago. Avelin was much older then everyone would expect. She may have the childish look on her face but she was one hundred and thirty years old. Humans don't know that though. They just think Avelin is an young adult which she let them believe. Can't go spilling the secret about being a demon now.

Darien had left off campus after classes were over and he headed over to a nice coffee shop that happened to be in town. He actually came here often ever since he decided to stay here, and not in Japan, he found it the one place he could find some solitude and well some good coffee as well. He walked into he coffee shop still dressed in his dark brown school uniform that fitted his small muscular frame quite perfectly and his hair was well a normal mess because he never did much to it other than let it flow freely and do what it wanted usually it was naturally spiked all over his head. He took a seat at the now cleaned counter and looked up at the menu over head trying to find something to drink besides just normal coffee.
Darien looked to the girl that happened to be doing all the cleaning and he cleared his throat softly to get her attention hopefully. “Can I please order a latte?” Darien spoke; his voice was soothing and cool like a nice autumn’s wind. His eyes were softened and so was his facial expressions though he didn’t really have too much of an emotion written on his face. He usually hid that from his expressions. “I hope you’re not too busy…” Darien added. He didn’t really want to bother the girl, well he wanted to order something but at the same time he didn’t want to be too rude and just demand for things like a bad customer would do. Darien could be edgy sometimes and blunt and even cold or cruel but half the time he tried to be a decent being and he could see this girl was overwhelmed with work. He would be patient, at least try to be while she had to deal with all the other customers that were coming and going.

Avelin had continued to spread around her cleaning in till some more customers would come in. It kept her busy so she was not just sitting there watching the clock. That would be the worst thing watching the clock. Nothing could be more painfully slow then that. Avelin had learned that a lot when she had to sit in jail in till things were sorted out. Apparently you were not suppose to release the wolves at the zoo. Avelin was young then and did not know much about the human world. Now she knew a little more and did not have to worry. The police officers just stated that she was a minor and she really will just be let off with a warning since her parents had talked Avelin out getting into too much serious trouble. Who knew humans could be so strict.
Avelin glanced up from her cleaning when she heard someone take a seat at one of the freshly cleaned counters. She just smiled brightly as she nodded her head. "One latte coming right up," Avelin said as she moved back in behind the counter once again. She had soon started the mixture needed for the coffee latte as she worked with the machine. She tilt her head slightly as she glanced towards the young man who had ordered the drink. "Not at all you don't have to worry about me being too busy. I can more then handle it," Avelin said as she winked. She turned her attention back to what she was doing pouring the drink into a cup for the young man. She mixed an hint of caramel and chocolate into the latte as she did with all the lattes she made.
Once the drink was completely prepared Avelin soon walked over to the black haired young man placing his drink on his table. "There you are one latte," Avelin said as she smiled. She was always in a good mood. A smile on your face made customers a little happier anyways. Nothing was worse then a grumpy server. The happier ones were much easier to deal with. Besides Avelin was naturally an general happy person. She soon went back in behind the counter again as she started to wipe the already cleaned area. "You beat the rush today. A little bit later and I will start to get more of the migration of school is over," Avelin pointed out.
The brown haired small girl soon set the rag down getting bored of the cleaning. It could only keep her busy for so long before she got tired of it. "You don't have to worry about ordering here. I can keep things moving quickly and do multiple things at once. I own this place after all I should be able to run it when it gets busy or customers get rather irritable," Avelin said as she laughed lightly to herself. "I'm Avelin by the way," she soon introduced herself as she glanced towards the male. The wolf demon admired her little shop. She loved being able to speak with customers and learn more about the behavior of those not of the wolf demon race.

Darien was pleased that the woman didn’t seem to ignore him like some did when they were busy doing other things. He would usually get frustrated with them and from there things usually went on a bad foot, but Darien was glad that this woman dropped what she was doing to serve him like a good waiter would do for a customer! Darien pulled out a novel that he happened to be reading and he set it on the counter before looking to her fixing his latte and hearing her speak about how she could handle doing work around here just fine. He smiled a little and then looked back down opening his novel and starting in the place where he had once left off. He then looked to his latte once it was setting in front of him and he smiled before looking to the woman and saying simple thanks. “Thank you very much…” he then resulted to pulling out his wallet and handing the woman a credit card for her to swipe.
Darien listened to her talk again and he nodded his head while taking a sip of his latte, it was perfect and this gave him a deep satisfaction. He liked when his orders were made correctly and if they weren’t well that bothered him greatly. “Ah, I guess that’s a good thing since I hate crowded places…” Darien finally replied and he smirked lightly. He then set his latte down before tracing his fingers against the page he was on. But his reading was again interrupted with the girl talking again, he didn’t seem bothered by it though, it was okay to have a conversation here and there, the boy wasn’t completely anti-social. He had social moments with others, it was just he was a rather a solitude person most of the time. He had reasons for being away from attention.
“Oh you own the place? Well this is a very nice establishment and I love this latte…it’s absolutely perfect.” He complimented he even gave a slight charming smile before letting it vanish all too quickly. He listened to her introduce herself and he took acknowledgement of her name. “Ah Avelin, the name is Darien.” He replied exchanging names.

Looking behind her, Lana was satisfied that she lost the male crowd at the front gates. But that didn't stop her from running. Lana continued to run down alleyways and down streets. Though her run soon turned into something of a jog until finally it turned into something of brisk walk. She turned one corner and swore that she heard some guy yell out 'Lana-bee'. That only made her walk faster. Until finally, she came upon an old hideout and somewhere she could rest. Running to the door she opened it and closed it quickly.
With a smile on her face, she slid down the door and looked through the window to make sure the coast was clear. Happy that it was Lana turned back to face other people in the cafe were staring at her. Lana waved a little and took deep breaths. She closed her eyes and continued to breathe slowly. Soon she opened them once more and stood up. Lana then took off her hood from her hoodie and moved her head left and right shaking her hair. She ran her fingers through her dark black hair then to brush it out. Once done, her eyes shined and her mouth twisted in a smile.
"Avelin! I'm back!" Lana called to the owner. Lana was a regular customer but she hasn't been able to return for a little while. The Elite Student found Avelin and smiled a bigger smile. She ran over to the owner and took her hands. Lana began to plead, "I'm in a desperate need of a white hot chocolate drink. Could you help me with that?" She grinned and then looked to Darien. "Oh, I'm sorry I totally interrupted. Why don't I sit in the corner like the idiot I am and be quiet. I'm sorry once more. Excuse me."
Lana did as she said and went to the corner of the shop. She sat down and put book bag on the table. She took off her coat and placed her arms in her lap. She knelt down and took deep sighs. Lana was still out of breath. She then looked out of the window and found several of the guys looking for her. Lana muttered to herself and went under the table. Soon though, but luckily, the boys passed and didn't even come into the cafe. Lana reappeared from under the table and everyone was looking at her again. She blushed and waved once more and said, "Don't mind me. Sorry to disturb you." Lana sat back down but made sure that no guy was going to come in and chase her. Even if it meant her using her powers.

After Avelin had placed down the coffee latte for the young black haired man he responded by taking out his credit card to pay for the latte. "You are quite welcome young man," Avelin smiled. She carefully took his card before walking over to the cash register and put the card through. After she was finished she quickly gave the card back the young man. She had moved back behind the counter after to resume her little cleaning that was no point now since this place couldn't get any cleaner. She smiled as she glanced back towards the young man, "crowds can be troublesome when you are in them but great for business," Avelin pointed out. She did not care much for crowds. Too many different scents especially if the ladies wore perfume. That always made Avelin sneeze...a lot.
"You are going to make me blush with all these complements young man," Avelin warned as she joked around. She crossed her arms as she leaned on her front counter. "It takes years to perfect anything and even then there are always ways to improve it but thank you," Avelin said. She liked it when a customer liked her products she made here in this coffee shop. It took her a long time to get as good as she was now. Although it really does help when age was not a factor when it came to some races other then humans. Really sad how humans can just perish so easily just after eighty years or so. Some lived to a hundred but not many. It always made Avelin so sad. They died much too early in her mind but then again age does not mater for a wolf demon.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Darien. You are always welcome to come back here anytime for a nice latte," Avelin said as she smiled. Although soon the little conversation between the two of them was interrupted when a girl Avelin instantly recognized came in. When the teenage girl had taken Avelin's hands the owner gave them a slight squeeze as she smiled brightly at the girl. "I do believe I can solve your little problem," Avelin responded. She tilt her head slightly when Lana started to go on about interrupting before she retired to the corner of the cafe. Avelin giggled softly to herself as she watched Lana quickly move under the table. Avelin had seen Lana enough times to know the reason why she would do such a thing. Avelin quickly fixed up a cup of white hot chocolate for the girl. As she picked up the cup she whispered to Darien, "Lana is such a cute girl. Problem is she had such a large crowd of boys always after her. She is one who can't escape the hated crowd," Avelin whispered before she walked over to Lana's table. She placed the white hot chocolate on her table. "You know Lana you are fully welcome to sit at the front counter to avoid the unwanted attention a little bit," Avelin said softly as she gave the girl a smile. She pat the top of Lana's head lightly before she made her way back to the front counter again. "Sooo Darien what book you reading?" Avelin soon asked. She did not like making her customers feel ignored.

Darien took a few sips of his wonderful latte that soothed his dry throat with many delights. He sighed with bliss as he flipped the page in the book he was reading. It only took a moment before he looked up to see a girl bustling through. He just smiled seeing her and she spoke to Avelin as if she came here often and probably did. She hadn’t been interrupting anything since him and Avelin weren’t really talking to each other any more and he didn’t see why the girl had to move all the way into the back table and then strangely she hid underneath it before popping back up again. Darien arched and eyebrow seeing some guys that had come in and then left, they must of have been looking for the girl, look like she had her own fan club. Darien knew the girl, well didn’t know her, but seen her before because he was and elite student also, but he hadn’t really socialized much with his colleagues so he didn’t recall her name.
“oh yes Lana, that’s the name, I’ve seen her before on campus, we seem to both attend the same school.” Darien claimed and he chuckled to himself seeing he was right about her having a fan club of guys following her around. It seemed that happened often with the elite students, having stalkers and such since everyone envied what ever it was that made them so special, only the elites knew what it was but the humans and such were beyond clueless. Most didn’t really know of the club, they just knew something existed among the “special” kids and everyone brought their attention to them, even stalking them as well. So far Darien had been lucky; he kept himself so discrete that he hadn’t had any followers for far.
“Oh I am reading some of Shakespeare’s work, I study plays and such.” He explained and to Avelin answering her question. He then looked back to Lana. “Yeah you should join us at the counter; we more than have enough room, don’t be a bashful.” Darien gave a slight charming smile to the girl.
