Kaiya, with her usual preppy attitude, decided to step out of her comfort zone and go to the stable. She was supposed to be taking the class soon, and she wanted to see the horses. There was only one that caught her eye- A large (About 16.1 hh) Dapple Grey Arabian- it was cute. It's head was sticking out of the stall and Kaiya reached out to it cautiously and patted it gently on the muzzle. The horse didn't pull back, and it just stared with kind black eyes. Kaiya really liked this horse. This was going to be her horse. She wondered what it's name was. Time to find the teacher/groom. They would know it's name. With this she set out to find them.
After a few minutes of searching, she found them. "Hello, sir, I was wondering what the dapple Grey Arabian's name was and I was wondering if I could take him out for a ride, or at least groom him. If you would let me do this I would greatly appreciate it." She said this with innocence. The teacher gave her a kind smile and said, "Of course, you may groom him, just let me lead him out of the stall and out to the hitching post. His name is Angel's Wing, but we call him Angelo."
Kaiya had given the teacher her thank you's and followed him out to the hitching post where she was given a comb and a brush, along with a treat to use when she was done. Angelo stood there like a good horse, eager to be brushed. He let out a shrill impatient whinny and waited. Kaiya started on his rump. She was busy brushing him when she thought she heard something, and Angelo's ears moved. She continued brushing him happily until she was done with the rump area.

The heavy, disjointed, sound of numerous heavy feet pounding upon solid earth echoed loudly within the still air, joined by heavy exhausted breathing and gasps and the occasional complaint that echoed from a tired student's lips. Class 11 A was involved in their weekly PE track lesson, a period that the majority of them dreaded as it involved them being made to run three laps around the spacious grounds of the academy with their PE teacher, a man notorious for his loud booming voice and rich scottish accent, roaring for them to quicken their pace. Sariel, however, found their weekly PE lesson to be highly enjoyable, due to her love of sports and her combative and competitive nature. She always started running at the head of her class with the more athletic male students, choosing not to walk the lesson with her fellow female classmates. Unfortunately for them, Sariel had a slight advantage when it came to their PE lessons. Her body wasn't as constricted as theirs as she wasn't human. She was a vampire.
Her feet barely touched the ground longer than a second as she ran, her long slender legs moving swiftly and powerful with no discomfort and strain building up upon her muscles, her movements surprisingly graceful - much more so than her class mates who she was beginning to leave far behind her. Her pale flesh, exposed by the short blue track shorts and tight-fitting, sleeveless, white shirt that she wore for the lesson, did not show the slightest glimmer of sweat, her breathing calm and steady whilst her purple eyes shone with pleasure. Running always made Sariel feel exilerated, most likely because of the vampiric speed that was at her exposal, and her prideful nature took pleasure in easily outrunning the humans behind her. She felt strong. She felt invincible. The scent of human sweat and the sound of their racing hearts was more than obvious within Sariel's ears and nose, despite the fact that she could no longer see her fellow classmates should she have glanced behind her, and would have been irresistable to most vampires. But Sariel had gained the skill to resist such temptations decades ago, finding the scent of human sweat to be nothing more than an irritation to her sensitive nose. Wishing to distance herself from the unpleasent aroma, she quickened her pace, finding herself running past the academy's stables.
Glancing to her right, Sariel saw an unfamilar female student grooming one of the school's horses, a large grey arabian to be more exact, though Sariel couldn't tell from where she stood whether the horse was a gelding, mare or stallion. And she had no intention of approaching closer to check. Animals generally disliked Sariel. Her presense made them nervous and wild in their instinctive fear and dislike for her. The red-head vampire had no desire to cause a scene by unintentionally scaring the wild horse - the girl beside it might have gotten hurt should such a scene unfold. In her distraction, Sariel failed to notice where it was that she was running and only just saw the large wooden fence at the last second, her purple hues widening in her shock. Bending her slender knees, she leapt up in a sharp agile movement that seemed more cat-like than human, jumping higher than an ordinary human should have been able to achieve, and landed upon the fence's narrow wooden surface with a heavy sound. Her tall attractive body wobbled uncertainly but she quickly collected her balance, still standing upon the fence, her body still as she tried to recollect her patience after her near-collision.

Kaiya had realized that she should probably see what was going on, so she shot a glance behind her. A girl was standing on the fence, but that wasn't what confused her. It was that she had brilliant purple eyes. Angelo looked with curiosity, and took a step back, so Kaiya put her hand on his shoulder. He was tense, a clear sign of discomfort, but she wanted to learn more about the girl who somehow got on the fence, and was apparently not very good at balancing... more of a runner than a gymnast, she figured.
Kaiya patted Angelo few times, reassuring him that it was okay. The horse was a bit startled, maybe it was because it could smell what she could smell. That wasn't a human. Good thing about being a dragon, your sense of smell is excellent. She sniffed the air a few times, not being able to figure out what it was. The question was, really why the horse was scared of the girl and not scared of Kaiya. Confusing, really. Or maybe it was just afraid of the fiery red hair and bright purple eyes. Didn't really matter, did it?
Kaiya laid her brush on the hitching post and patted Angelo, turning so she was in full view of the girl. "Don't fall!"[/b] Kaiya said with a small smile, it looked a bit fun to be up there but she wasn't going to try it. Too easy to bruise she was. Angelo shook his head impatiently and nuzzled her shoulder, pushing her forward a little. Kaiya grabbed a treat and held it out to the horse, who willingly took it and looked ahead. Slightly timid, but not all that bad. she thought.
"I'm Kaiya, by the way. I'm new here."[/b] It was true, she was new, and this was basically her first day here. She had no friends but the horse and felt alone. Didn't really bother her other half, but this half it was killing. It wasn't easy havving a bipolar disorder.

No injuries, Sariel decided as she remained balancing on the fence, noticing the absense of any discomfort that might have alerted her to a cut or splinter maring her skin. But then again, Sariel had known that she wouldn't be injuried. Her body wasn't nearly as fragile to allow for such a thing to be possible. Brushing back strands of her crimson hair away from her beautiful face, the sound of an unfamilar female caused her to glance to her right.
There, the unfamilar girl stood, smiling friendly up at Sariel. She didn't look that much younger that Sariel (if one judged by the vampire's physical appearence) and possessed a youthful, unintimidating appearence, as if she could be taken advantage of all too quickly.
"Sariel," the vampire responded, ignoring the girl's comment about her falling, her voice softly feminine but with a powerful musical quality to it, as if she had been a saprano in a past life. No smile appeared on Sariel's dark lips and there was no kind appealing quality on her attractive face, though her tone of voice wasn't cruel either. "I've been here for ... two years, I think." Not waiting for Kaiya's reply, Sariel carelessly stepped off from the fence and, despite the distance that existed to the ground, she landed gracefully on her feet, not in the least bit hurt or unbalanced.
For a moment, Sariel seemed to ignore Kaiya, her vivid purple gaze locked upon the beast as the girl's side, face expressionless, clearly unwilling to shorten the distance that existed between them. Sariel knew that the horse would be quite anxious around her, especially if it caught her scent, uncommonly sweet as most vampires smelt. She wouldn't have been surprised if it tried to bolt in an attempt to flee the ancient monster that she was. Slowly, as if with effort, Sariel looked away from the grey arabian and instead turned her attention once more onto Kaiya.
"Free time?" she asked casually. At this point, male students of Sariel's PE class had reached the stables, indicating the time that had passed since Sariel had stopped running.

Sariel was a unique name. A name fitting for a non-human of course. Angelo was getting a bit more jumpy behind her, stepping forward and back then left to right. Ugh. She turned and untied the lead rope, gave the horse a hard stare, and led him back to his stall. He went inside happily and just stood there for a minute, not knowing what to do. He was brushed enough, it wasn't like he was that dirty in the first place.
Kaiya turned and walked out of the stables and back to Sariel, where she saw the boys running past her. Apparently she had been far ahead of her classmates. "Actually this is kind of my first day here and I have been getting to know what my classes are." She gave her one of those 'Why me' looks, only that wasn't the meaning behind the look. Not even close. She was making mental notes of Sariel, 1) Seemingly emotionless 2)fast runner 3)Has P.E. for 11a.
Not really a bad person, no one can be that grumpy either. Probably a person to have on your side if you ever were in trouble. Kaiya smoothed the uniform she was wearing, flipped her hair and looked to Sariel. Her red hair was probably the thing that caught most people's eye. Add the red hair and the purple eyes together you get a stunning combination of two disagreeing colors. Hmm, it gave her a nice look. Now Kaiya on the other had had the long curly brown hair with the mahogany eyes. Then she had the deep tan skin making her look like she was from the south. Her voice had a slightly Australian accent, even though she was born and raised not too far from here.

Sariel got the feeling that the girl Kaiya was sizing her up, analysing her every action, expression and word. Though her tanned face seemed innocent enough as she smiled up at the vampire, Sariel knew that she was correct in guessing the girl's actions. It was a feeling that she had. The beautiful immortal did not confront Kaiya on her actions, nor did she give any signs of guessing what she was up to. Truely, it didn't bother Sariel. In the end, she knew that Kaiya wouldn't be about to guess who she truely was. An ancient vampire, as old as the ruins left behind in Rome, bound to servitude to the leaders of the Hunter Association. A killer of her own kind. If Kaiya could guess that she deserved a cookie.
"Ah," came Sariel's simple response as she watched the boys approach them swiftly, sweat glistening on their flesh and the pounding of their racing hearts was quite loud within her ears. "It's unfortunate being the new girl. Don't worry about it, I'm sure that you'll find this place more than welcoming ... unless you're poor, weak-minded and got into this place on a scholorship. There's still the occassional snob and bully to be found here, I'm afraid." Glancing down at Kaiya, Sariel gave her a reassuring smile, one that only served to enhance the beauty on her face, a type of beauty that few humans were ever fortunate to be bestowed with. "I can't stand it when the innocent or the weak are being victimised though. That's why I agreed to join the 'Elite Club'. We're sort of the disciplinary group on campas. Any problems you should come straight to me, Kaiya."
It was at this point that one of the running boys came to a halt, breathing heavily as he turned his gaze upon the two girls, grinning widely. "Hey, Red," he called, his words clearly directed at Sariel. "Why'd you stop? Aren't you our class' star athlete? If teach sees you stopping for a chat he's bound to get all dissapointed in you. Come on, let's run together." Unfortunately, three other boys who had been only a short distance away heard what their fellow male student had suggested and were quick to add that they wanted to run with Sariel too. And then the arguments started.
Watching the site with obvious embarressment, Sariel gave a small, humourless laugh before raising her right hand to brush strands of her crimson locks away from her face once more.

"It's unfortunate being the new girl. Don't worry about it, I'm sure that you'll find this place more than welcoming ... unless you're poor, weak-minded and got into this place on a scholarship. There's still the occasional snob and bully to be found here, I'm afraid."[/i] Kaiya listened to Sariel intently, smiling lightly and thinking of a response. "Actually, I am from a rich family who worked to get me into this academy. I don't know if you would call me weak-minded though..."[/b] She said this right before Sariel started talking.
"I can't stand it when the innocent or the weak are being victimized though. That's why I agreed to join the 'Elite Club'. We're sort of the disciplinary group on campus. Any problems you should come straight to me, Kaiya."[/i] Kaiya nodded as her response to Sariel and looked to the incoming bunch of guys who were stampeding just to see Sariel.
Kaiya's new blank expressionless look seemed to make her forehead look fat. Although she was quite the skinny girl, she didn't look that thin. A breeze blew past, and her long hair blew away from her face, revealing her set jaw bone that made her look a bit intimidating. Just a bit. Those guys were like turkey buzzards crowding a dead deer. Pretty soon more of them would be circling. Males.
"Looks like the slow squad has caught up. Well, maybe we could meet up after class is over?"[/b] Kaiya had by ow figured that the guys weren't going to stop dogging her until they got what they wanted. She wouldn't be surprised if that actually happened. Time to let it go, anyways, she would have her share of friends long enough.
Shooting a glance at the gym teacher she studied him, then noticed his eyes were focused on the growing crowd over by Sariel. He was probably thinking something was going to happen... or something did happen. Kaiya was currently wondering if she was to have any classes with Sariel, but it didn't really matter. It was nice that she didn't have gym this semester, also. She disliked gym, although it was one of the classes she excelled in.
