"Of course you know what a hoohum is, you spend your days socializing with them. I told you, the ones you think are responsible for this memory of yours. You spend your time looking like them, and trying to make sure they won't notice you're different. In short, you pretend to be one."
"You do realize that telling yourself to keep your mind blank never works, right? Its a futile effort that's not worth the time. It isn't like I really care about what you think anyway; I'm just here for a good meal." And to make Kage rue the day she'd ever said someone about Ciar he didn't like, a thousand fold. But there was plenty of time for that - centuries, in fact.
Ciar patted her on the forehead lightly, as though she were some kind of favored pet in need of reassurace. His smile remained fixed on his face, teeth gleaming in none-existant firelight, "Oh, don't be silly mien freudin, you haven't given me any ideas, you've simply been... most informative."[ Once again he anwered questions she never spoke aloud. My my my, so Dream-Lost didn't usually feel pain in dreams? That was one little piece of information that he would have to remember to take advantage of.

Kage Hana thought for a moment and then snapped her fingers. "By hoohum do you mean humans" she asked curiously. The clues fit together, Kage Hana did socialize with humans and she did blame them for what happened to her parents. If that was the case then it made sense. Kage Hana smiled slightly for some odd reason.
"Sometimes it works. Also I know you don't care what I think about Ciar, the thing is I care. What meal are you talking about" Kage Hana asked calmly. She had been reprimanded for her poor attitude before so Kage Hana was doing her best to keep it in line. She didn't want to be teased again for not being able to hold back her anger. It was hard since Ciar knew exactly how to make her mad. Nonetheless Kage Hana promised herself she wouldn't let Ciar get to her.
Kage Hana felt the patting on her forehead and sighed. "What am I some sort of pet or something" Kage Hana asked. Ciar spoke and Kage Hana held back the urge to yell at him. "I guess you're welcome" she said simply. Knowing Ciar he'd take advantage of that knowledge soon, very soon.

((Sorry, I lost my internet for a little bit))
"That's what I've been saying. The ones you pretend to be. You don't listen well." Though he was scolding Kage, Ciar wasn't actually paying any attention to her. He'd teleported to stand lightly on the top of her head, barely any weight at all, and was again playing with the skeleton puppet. It seemed to be eating a skeletonal fish.
"Its like telling yourself not to picture a purple elephant. Unless you don't know what an elephant looks like, its pretty much impossi -" An apparently miniture elephant, about the size of a medium dog, loped past happily, stained a berry-purple colour. Who knew if Kage had created it or if Ciar was playing with her again. "See?" "I'm talking about the meals you Dream-Lost provide, of course. Very tasty~."
"Hm, if I say you are my pet, can I call you Puppy?" Since he was still standing on Kage's head, she couldn't see, but the grin was practically audiable, "I think I'll like that."

"How am I supposed to understand your terms" Kage Hana asked. How was she supposed to know what hoohum or dream-lost meant? These words were unfamiliar to her. Kage Hana looked around and noticed the doors with chains and even though she was intrigued by the doors Ciar had told her it was not wise to open them so she didn't, but Kage Hana couldn't help but wonder what was behind those doors.
Ciar spoke again and this time it was something odd. A purple elephant came out of nowhere. "Ciar is this your doing" Kage Hana asked pointing to the elephant. Everything was starting to confuse Kage Hana even more and that was starting to give her a headache. She tried sorting everything out but just got more confused. "What kind of meals are those" Kage Hana asked, curious to learn about something new.
"Never, ever call me a puppy" Kage Hana said angrily. It was her father's blood in her, Kage Hana's people did not like being called 'puppies' or 'dogs' they were wolves and proud of it. Kage Hana calmed down again and took some relaxing breaths. She felt Ciar on her head and sighed. "How long to you plan to stay on my head" Kage Hana asked.

"That wasn't my term, that was one of yours. You need to learn to listen." Ciar said frankly. Honestly, what was even the point of paying attention to the Dream-Lost titles if they couldn't appreciate the effort you went to in doing so?
"My doing? What makes you think its my doing, when its your dream? Your mind is the one that creates purple elephants when I tell you not to." There was a moments respite, before a whole herd of purple elephants charged past, chasing the first until they were out of view. "Maybe you've just learnt how to dream again." "The meals of my kind. What else would I eat? Tortured and toasted bovine flesh like you and humans?" He had the puppet lean over and hold a hamburger out to Kage, apparently offering it to her. "Yuck, no thanks."
"If you're my pet, I can call you whatever I want." Ciar kept his tone calm and resonable, as if her outburst was utterly ridiculous. It just might have been - she was half werewolf, and a baby wolf was known as a pup. Puppy was a completely natural conclusion to come to, at least by his point of view. "Hmm. Until you fall over so I can lie on your back, I suppose."

Ciar spoke but only confused Kage Hana. She had never used the terms dream-lost or hoohum yet Ciar was saying that those were her terms. Kage Hana tried to sort everything out but to no avail. She kept thinking about it but only gave herself a headache. Ciar was very good at confusing Kage Hana.
"You're the one who said something about a purple elephant and then one appeared that's why I asked" Kage Hana said. A whole heard of purple elephants ran past the two people. "Dream again? I don't remember having trouble dreaming in the first place" Kage Hana said honestly. The skeleton that used to be Kage Hana's father was apparently offering her a hamburger. "No thanks, I'm not hungry right now" Kage Hana said politely.
"I'm not a pet though, especially not yours" Kage Hana said calmly. She hated it when people called her puppy even if there was good logic behind it. "I'm not going to fall over" Kage Hana said. Why did Ciar say something about her lying on Kage Hana's back?

"That wasn't a question, it was an accusation. And as I said, its your dream. You're thoughts make it. Well, the thoughts you don't think, same difference." Just because he could invade and take control at any moment meant that he was responsible for every odd thing that happened. "A dream that is not a memory, my dear. Dream again like most people do." At Kage's refusal, the puppet dropped the hamburger, allowing it to fall to the ground. No sooner had it done so than the ground split open like a ravine in front of Kage's feet - a mouth with gleaming crystal teeth. A strange tongue, covered in some sort of slime and with stalegmite sticking out all over it, slithered out of the ravine to scoop the hamburger up, brushing up on Kage's leg and leaving it drenched in the strange slime in the process. The ravine closed up again, taking the hamburger with it, and then the earth noisily began to chew.
"You're the one who offered to be." He countered with all his usual arrogant simplicity. "Oh well, then I guess I'll just have to stand on your head forever. No big loss, its a nice view."

"It was both a question and an accusation" Kage Hana replied calmly. "Thoughts I don't think...that doesn't make any sense to me" Kage Hana said. Ciar was just making Kage Hana more and more confused. Ciar was speaking about memories and dreams but Kage Hana didn't quite understand. Kage Hana thought and thought, trying to make sense of everything.
Kage Hana looked at the skeleton which had dropped the hamburger. A ravine opened up at Kage Hana's feet. The ravine turned into a mouth with gleaming crystal teeth, a strange tongue, covered in some sort of slime and with stalagmite sticking out all over it, slithered out to eat the hamburger. "what the heck is that" Kage Hana asked. the tongue brushed against Kage Hana's leg leaving slime on it, luckily Kage Hana's leg was covered by her pajamas so it wasn't too bad. "What is this goop" Kage Hana asked in a disgusted tone of voice. The mouth closed and began chewing nosily.
Ciar spoke again and Kage Hana sighed. He had apparently either misunderstood what she meant or twisted her words. "I didn't offer to be a pet, I was simply asking a question" Kage Hana said. She tried to shake Ciar off her head, since it was getting a tad annoying. Ciar said he would stay on her head forever but Kage Hana knew that wasn't possible, what happens when she woke up?

"I think it makes perfect sense." Not that he was going to explain it to Kage; he was growing tired with making the effort of explaining things - including words belonging to her own language - to her. "Maybe you should try to work it out youself, instead of waiting for me to explain." The puppet sat down on Kage's shoulder and put a fist under its chin, in the famous 'thinking position.
"What? You said you didn't want the hamburger. Is it that you don't want it, but don't want anyone else to have it either? Tsk, that's not very nice."[/color] Ciar didn't seem the least bit worried about the newest development. In fact, it seemed as though this wasn't unusual enough for him to even blink or do a double-take over. "Saliva? Or maybe that's how the ground marks its prey, and now it is going to come back and eat you. Or maybe it makes you melt into a puddle of vitamins for the plants!" Ciar jumped once in apparent excitement as his theories as to what the slime was grew more elaborate.
"Then don't be so obtuse." Ciar countered. He rose one foot and lifted himself onto his tiptoes as Kage's head moved, but otherwise showed no signs of even knowing she had shaken her head. He certainly didn't lose a fraction of his balance, much less actually fall off. The head-shaking stopped, and Ciar gracefully sunk down onto his two feet again, looking for all the world as though he hadn't moved to start with.

"Not to me it doesn't" Kage Hana replied. How could this possibly make sense to her? "I am trying to figure it out for myself, I'm just having a hard time doing so" Kage Hana said. She really was trying her best to solve everything on her own but it didn't seem to work. Kage Hana kept thinking but couldn't solve it so she decided to give up for now but she'd try again sooner or later.
"I just didn't want it. What made you think I didn't want anyone else to have it" Kage Hana asked. Kage Hana listened as Ciar spoke but didn't really like what he was saying. "Well do you even know what that thing was" Kage Hana asked curiously. Ciar had a pretty vivid imagination but it did get Kage Hana thinking about what the heck the saliva or whatever-it-was do. she shook the thoughts away and just looked around, being inside her own head was weird.
"I'm not obtuse" Kage Hana said calmly. Ciar was good at keeping his balance. Kage Hana was getting slightly annoyed at the fact that she was talking to somebody and that person was standing on her head rather then being in eye-contact. Kage Hana was taught that it was polite to look someone in the eyes when talking, even if you weren't fond of the person. Kage Hana, despite her attitude, was actually a very nice and sweet person but for some odd reason she didn't want to show that side of herself.

The puppet tilted its head, and then cupped a hand around where it's ear would be, as if trying to hear some distant sound, "It doesn't sound like you're thinking. There's no ticking gears." Came Ciar's voice after a few moments of this.
"Well, you freaked out when something else ate the hamburger. What else is one supposed to think, when you act like that? Didn't I just tell you - It was the ground of course. Surely even you can work that out." He settled down, sitting on Ciar's head with his legs hanging over her face. A slight shift, and one leg crossed on top of the other as he made himself more comfortable.
"Then you're acute? Alright, if you insist. ...Does that mean you're a triangle?" For a minute everything within Kage seemed to warp, making her feel nausious and uncomfortable. From Ciar's view, on top of her head, her whole form had shifted into, yes, the shape of a perfect triangle, all three corners with exactly the same degree. Then it was over, as though it had never began, with only the slight after-image of her previous form in his retina.

Ciar spoke and Kage Hana sighed and replied calmly. "Well it is rather hard for me to think right now" Kage Hana said. In truth she was easily distracted by everything but figured that if she said that then Ciar would make fun of her in some way or another. Kage Hana really didn't like talking to people who were out of her range of vision. "Why must you sit on my head? Can't you talk to me face-to-face" Kage Hana asked curiously.
"Of course I freaked out. Who ever heard of the ground forming a jaw and a tongue and eating things" Kage Hana asked honestly. When Ciar put his legs in front of Kage Hana she tried to push them off. She wasn't thinking about anything anymore and really wanted this to end. Kage Hana started to let her mind wander. Her first thought was of how long she was going to be here.
"Well I'm acute girl" but I'm not triangle, maybe a circle? I dunno" Kage Hana said. She didn't laugh or smile at her own joke but thought to herself that it was the truth. For a minute Kage Hana felt uncomfortable and nauseous. "you started spinning the world" Kage Hana asked dizzily. That was what it had felt to her but who knows what Ciar saw.
