Kaiya had been getting ready days before the dance, and had her outfit all planned out. A pretty strapless black dress with red trim and a sprkly red belt were to be wore, the dress went down only to her mid calf. On her feet would be a pair of black and red heels, only making her seem about two inches taller. A good thing. To make her warmer, she wore a cropped white lace jacket, that went down to her mid-back area. Her brown hair was pulled back into a bun, all twisted and turned until it looked perfect. Her face was cleared of mainly all makeup besides some sparkly lip gloss and some sparkly eye shadow.
Kaiya had appeared to be one of the first ones on the dance floor, or even to the whole dance. She looked around, noticed a strange song was playing, and was going to go over and complain to Bob, the DJ. She had known him since her first birthday party, her parents had hired him for everythying that needed music and had hired him for the dance, also. As she made her way over to him her heels made the enjoyable click every step she took. It made her feel sophisticated. As she aproached Bob he smiled at her and waved. Kaiya gave him a smile in return. When she got there she sat on his table.
"So, Bob, I would like to put in a song request." She said, gazing out across the dance floor. Some kids were over putting things on the crackers. A good thing she had eaten before she came. Probably some laxatives or something. Phew. "Of course! What song would you like?" Kaiya had quite a few requests, but was only going to use two for right now. "I want "Lost In This Moment" by Big and Rich, then I want "Love Shack". Can you do that?" She asked, looking to Bob. He nodded.
Kaiya got up and made her way over to the area where chairs were, and Bob started to play one of his songs. He knew better than to play one of her songs before anyone actually got there. She played around with her nails for a while before looking up to see someone standing in front of her. Who that was, well, who knew? She looked up at him with her brown eyes and smiled.

Yuri glanced down himself, checking everything was in order. He wouldn't stand for a single little flaw in his appearance. On his feet were a pair of polished, black formal shoes, the laces pulled into almost perfect bows. Further up, his legs were covered by a pair of rather tight dress pants, their color a shade lighter than the Russian's shoes. On his torso was a silky, blood red dress shirt, the hem neatly tucked in.
Unusually, Yuri had combed his usually messy hair back, the tresses kept there by gel. He no longer wore his glasses. As a vampire, he never really needed them. They were just a guise. Instead, his eyes were emphasized by the slightest touch of black eyeliner. If anyone asked where his glasses went, he'd say he was wearing contacts.
He stepped into the room, looking about. Hmm, there didn't seem to be that many people. Actually, there only seemed to be one other person that was here for the dance. He'd seen her around, but didn't know her name. Another early comer. Yuri gave a small sniff, picking up her scent. She wasn't human... that much he could tell.
Deciding to approach her, Yuri stopped a few feet from her. She looked up at him, smiling. Why was she doing that? Coughing slightly, Yuri held his hand out towards the girl. "Would you care to dance?" he asked quietly.

Oh look another vampire! That scent was pretty much unmaskable, yet hers had more of a twist to it. Hers was more of a human, but that dragon was still in there somewhere. A boy she had never really seen before was standing in front of her, asking her to dance. Why of course she would dance, and she took his hand in hers. She didn't know if it was just her, but did his skin seem slightly cold?
"Of course I would like to dance. I do belive I have seen you around, but I don't seem to knowyour name. I'm Kaiya, by the way."[/b]Her smile turned into a small grin, but only after she sized him up a bit then looked back to his face. He wasn't that bad looking. Not really her type, but he was still kind of cute. No arguing with that. As if on cue, about twenty more people came in, some in dresses and some in dressy clothes, guys in khakis and others dressed a bit like the fellow standing in front of Kaiya. She was still a few inches shorter than him, even though she was wearing heels.

"Forgive me, I forget my manners. My name is Yuri. Yuri Konstantinov." A small, yet charming smile crossed his face. It did not reveal his fangs, though he was sure Kaiya would know what he was the second he touched her. If she hadn't then she would find out by the end of the night. Bringing her hand to his lips, the vampire planted a light kiss on the soft skin. Just because he killed people while feeding, it didn't mean he didn't know how to be chivalrous.
A slow song had started only moments before. Yuri guessed that the DJ had seen the young man approaching. He gave a slight shrug at the thought. Leading Kaiya to where he assumed the dance floor was, the vampire took a moment to catch the feel of the song. Ah, yes, this he could dance to. And so, taking Kaiya into his hands - not in an inappropriate way- he began to dance with only a precise grace that only immortals possessed. And people said only gay men could dance - hah!

Yuri. That name really rolled off the tongue. A Russian Vampire. How pleasant. Kaiya had a way oif telling the different races apart, the vampires were usually pale with dark features, she hadn't yet met any dragons, the lycans had a certain thing about them... oh well. She couldn't help herself but smile and wink at Bob, then turn back to Yuri. He sure was cute, for a vampire. Her bright brown eyes seemed to scan the rest of the people around, and only a few were out on the floor dancing.
Kaiya couldn't help herself to lean in and put her arms around his neck, just a habit of hers. Now if the song had more of a beat, i would actually be a bit more of a dance than a simple swaying to the beat thing.

A familiar ache began to bloom in his teeth. Ahh, yes. Bloodlust. He should of fed before coming. Oh well, nobody would miss a pint of blood... At least that he'd know of. A deep, almost seductive rumble echoed in his chest as a particularly delicious smelling human entered the room. A vampire's instinct, no less. However, Yuri pushed that side of him away, turning his attention back to Kaiya. He decided that the short female smelled beautiful, but couldn't decide if that was good or if that was bad.
As the girl leaned in and wrapped her arms around his neck, Yuri stiffened ever so slightly. Her scent was much closer to his face, tempting him to bite her just for a taste. The vampire could feel his fangs lengthening, saliva rushing to his mouth. Yuri's ribs expanded slightly, concentrating on keeping the pressure there to avid thinking abut taking a tasty chunk out of the girl.

"Vampires only feed off of humans, correct?" Kaiya asked him, seeing how he had stiffened. As a dragon she could easily take down a vampire. Not in human form, but as a dragon. A vision was coming to her, the sight was going to start soon and bring on a familiar pain to her head. She brought her arms back from Yuri's neck, and placed her long slender fingers on her temples, massaging them lightly. It was somewhat bad. The human that had walked in the door better go home tonight or something would be bad for them, perhaps even death would come. There was a dragon, too. It was Kaiya in her dragon form. Of course, future could change easily.
Then Kaiya was hit with the devastating migraine that always came afterward. Why now? She hurried back over to her chair and rummaged through the little pouch she had brought with her, pulled out one of her migraine pills, swallowed it down and immmediatly she felt better. Her stomach did dissolve things quicker than a human.
"Sorry about that... I've been getting head aches lately..."
